JBL Films latest project is
"Music and Mayhem: A Survivor's Story
this film follows and features one musician displaced after Katrina Hurricane in New Orleans. It features Rasheed Akbar and his wife Patricia.

In 2006, JB was brought in to Memphis twice to work with Jerry Lee Lewis, shooting an EPK with live music performance at the Phillips Studio and extensive interviews at the Lewis Ranch for the Last Man Standing: Live DVD.

JBL Films helped produce "Region Four - the Pigeon River,"
a daring investigation into corporate pollution on a massive scale.

An avid still photographer from a young age, JB has been incorporating stills into his documentary work, recently loaning many to the Grammy Foundation and Musicares to help publicize the destruction of Hurricane Katrina (click to view stills). Recently, JB has been shooting celebrities in Los Angeles,
for documentary and entertainment-related clients.


JB lensed an introduction with Tom Hanks for a project with
the Oscar-winning documentary filmmakers at the American Film Foundation and also worked on season of "Junkyard Wars." For years, JB has freelanced with noted documentary filmmakers at Media Process Group.

Also, he trained and interned with Kartemquin Films, ("Hoop Dreams") working with doc veterans Gordon Quinn, Jerry Blumenthal, Steve James, Frederick Marx, and Peter Gilbert.

Formal training? Michael Rabiger was a great documentary teacher.

As a Crew Service with JB as DP/Cameraman, JBL Films has provided services for many behind the scenes documentaries. This includes work for hire for MGM, Fox, Warner Brothers, Disney, Sony Pictures, and Sony Music. Many production companies have worked with our crews in the service of broadcast television shows for Bravo, The History Channel, TLC, VH-1, Style Network, Travel Channel, WE TV, Tru TV and many more. We translate documentary skills and styles into fashionable, promotion oriented projects for Dual disc, EPKs, VNRs, and films.
